CarnLIVal Liverpool

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you'll know that last weekend I was in Liverpool for CarnLIVal hosted by the fabulous Sam and Katy who also let me crash at theirs for the weekend (thanks gals, there's a spare room here in Edinburgh for you). I saw Sam tweeting about it back in August, had a quick nosey at buses and trains and found I could go down and get back home for a whole £6.50, I mean who could say no to that deal? Shout out Megabus!
The event was held in Magnet in Liverpool and of course I fucking loved the place, it was filled with Star Wars merchandise! Helping the gals set up, I was audibly gasping as I put things down because I kept finding little bits I loved. I managed to condense it down to just three photos but if you ever find yourself in Liverpool, pop in and send me photos of whatever else you can find!
There was plenty to do at CarnLIVal, aside from the bar being open, (I became very good friends with the guy behind the bar and his dog, never off duty me) Sam and Katy did a great job of organising loads of games and things to do to keep us all entertained. For the first half of the event there was a banging festive playlist going and if you want a listen you can right here! The girls also held a tombola, a poetry competition, a guess how many sweets in the jar and handed everybody a coloured envelope that would all make sense later in the day. I'd say the most popular part of the day had to have been the naughty and nice sacks. For just 50p you could pick a gift from a naughty or nice sack and see what you got. A lot people went for a mixture of the two although the naughty sack did get emptied first, just saying. I got myself a couple goodies; a handful of sweets, a tube of lube (always handy) and a brush cleaning duo set that I can't wait to try out! I'm sure you'll read all about it soon enough.

The second half of the day kicked off with Lex from Goodyfull giving us a wee speech about their products and how to best use them. We then moved on to pass the parcel, yeah you read that right! After two games with many rounds (those parcel were well wrapped!), two people walked away with beautiful handbags. Not going to lie, I was a teensy bit jealous as my go to recently went to handbag heaven but I'm sure they'll be well loved in their new homes! We then got on to the rowdiest part of the evening, most people by this stage were a touch tipsy (definitely including myself in that category) the christmas quiz. We somehow managed to win the quiz which was a bit of a shock as in all my excitement about getting down to Liverpool for the weekend, I did no revising! The last two events of the day were announcing the winner of the christmas jumper competition (my ugly pug jumper sadly didn't win but the gal that did definitely deserved it!) and the mystery envelopes were finally revealed as a free tombola that everyone was entered into. I won myself a lovely box of socks from London Sock Co but decided to give them to one of the gals there.

I had such a fantastic time at CarnLIVal and I'm so glad I pushed myself out my comfort zone and travelled down for it. It certainly won't be the last time I descend upon Liverpool, I've made some truly wonderful friends that I plan on visiting soon plus I'm sure there will be future CarnLIVal events! I've gotta say a super special thanks to Sam and Katy for organising this entire event and putting me up for an entire weekend.

After the event finished we toddled off to the pub for a few many drinks and I was even lucky enough to witness a proposal the very same night! That's not my story to tell though so go read Sam's post all about it here.

If you were at CarnLIVal as well and have posted about it let me know below so I can read yours!
